Bookings and Payment
Once you have chosen your accomodation and checked availability by email or phone payments can be made online, via PayPal/BACS, cheque or bank draft or external booking systems/agents.
Our booking system assures you of security and confidentiality. A deposit of 25% is required to confirm the booking with the balance due 28 days before arrival. Should a booking be made less than 28 days from arrival date then 50% payment is required. The remainder is due on arrival. The lead person must be at least 21 years of age at time of booking.
Good House Keeping
There will also be a mandatory £100 good house keeping deposit which will be payable when the balance is due. The deposit will be returned within 48 hours providing the cottage is left in a satisfactory and clean condition. A percentage of this deposit may be kept if extra cleaning is required.
Please contact us immediately should you be compelled to cancel your reservation and confirm this in writing. Only upon receipt of your written instructions will the cancellation take effect. In all cases of cancellation the booking deposit will be forfeited. Should cancellation occur less than 28 days prior to the date on which the holiday begins, Strangford View Mews will seek to re-let for all or part of the booking period and if successful, monies may be refunded, less the deposit. Strangford View Mews does not operate any scheme of cancellation or travel insurance and recommend you obtain your own insurance cover for the holiday.
Cancellation by Strangford View Mews
We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Arrival and Departure
The cottages are available from 4pm on arrival day and should be vacated no later than 10am on the final day of your stay. These times may be flexible subject to prior arrangement. Please advise us of your approximate arrival time prior to your stay.
The maximum occupancy for each cottage is stated on our website and must not be exceeded without prior permission from Strangford View Mews.
The total price paid covers normal daily electricity usage as in any normal family home.
We are keen to conserve energy for our planets sake.
If unnecessary/excessive usage i.e. Lights/heating and other appliances not in use are left on when Mews are vacated/24 hour period the electric operates on a meter, using £1 coins, therefore EXCESSIVE use will require coins.
THIS IS UNLIKELY if guests do not leave appliances on and respect our environment please.
Long term lets of reduced rates(agreed by proprietor and guests may be be expected to pay heating and electricity charges).
Respect Other Guests
We would ask all our guests to respect the occupants of the other accommodation and to act at all times in a way that will not spoil or infringe on other peoples enjoyment. We reserve the right to take appropriate action against anyone failing to act in a responsible manor. The owner and their representatives retain the right to enter the cottages at anytime.
No Smoking Policy
We operate a No Smoking policy anywhere inside the cottages. There are outside ashtrays provided in each unit.
No Candles please – unless there is a power cut
We are dog and animal lovers however we appreciate that not all guests are so given that only Guide and Medical dogs are allowed HOWEVER well behaved dogs may be allowed with prior permission from.
An additional charge of £25 (additional cleaning) per booking will apply. All dogs must be kept under strict control and must be kept on a leash at all times in public areas. Dogs are not allowed in bedrooms or on furniture. Any fouling in the outdoor area must be removed immediately and disposed of properly.
PLEASE NOTE – Guests who bring pets to the property without prior notice will be refused occupancy of the property or made to vacate early and FORFEIT FULL PAYMENT
You are responsible for the accommodation and are expected to take all reasonable care of it. All equipment, utensils etc must be left clean and tidy at the end of your holiday. You are also responsible for any breakages or damage to the cottage or its contents, or for any loss of equipment whilst being occupied by you. All such incidents must be notified.
There is an equestrian business on site. Please note that the stable yard is private and no access is allowed by guests. Please make sure children are supervised at all times and do not enter stables or fields. This is for health and safety.
Whilst we are located in the countryside all guests are made aware that there is an equestrian business onsite with external noise from horses, dogs and farm machinery. We are not responsible for noise from farm machinery etc on the road side or neighbouring farms or businesses.
No responsibility will be accepted by the owners for any personal injury to you or any member of your party. No liability will be accepted for accident or loss of, or damage to personal effects, baggage, car or any other item belonging to you or any member of your party whether arising from the negligence of the owner, his representatives or that of any tenant of Strangford View Mews. You must take all necessary steps to safeguard your property and ensure the personal safety of yourself and your party.
If whilst on holiday you are not entirely satisfied with your cottage, you should contact Strangford View Mews immediately in order that we may attempt to resolve the problem. Failure to follow this procedure will make it impossible for us to put the matter right and may result in the loss or reduction of any rights you may have had in connection with your complaint. If after contacting us you still feel the problem has not been resolved to your satisfaction, then you must put your complaint in writing to “The Proprietors” within fourteen days of your return from holiday.
